NZ's North Island shook by earthquake

A large earthquake has rocked New Zealand's North Island on Tuesday night but no damage has been reported.
The long, rumbling 6.5-magnitude quake struck around 2035 AEST, 60km southwest of Opunake in Taranaki at depth of 257km, GNS Science said.
A Fire Service central communications spokesman told AAP there were a number of calls but no reports of damage. The quake was felt hundreds of kilometres away in Christchurch.
